June 2010 was the warmest June I have experienced since 1983. Temperatures averaged 4.1°F (2.3°C ) above normal. This continues a trend of record or near record warmth that began in March. The last 4 months have averaged a remarkable 4.5°F ( 2.5°C ) above the long-term mean. I recorded a maximum of 95°F (35.0°C ) on the 27th. A minimum of 49°F (9.4°C ) was noted on the 9th. It was a dry month. Precipitation totaled 2.66" (51.8mm) which was only about 65% of normal.

For the month, temp averaged 71.7°F (22.1°C) which was 4.1°F (2.3°C) degrees above Morristown's historical average. Not a record at my station 73.5°F (1994). Precipitation was below normal for the third straight month (2.28" versus 3.41" average). YTD we are still running about 15% above normal (24.88" versus 21.81" average).

A fairly typical winter month with plenty of sunshine - 22 cloud free days. From a temperature point of view, this has been an average month with both the mean maximum and minimum being normal. The minimum temperature was the lowest since 1992, when the same temperature was recorded. The month was rainless and 22 days were cloudless.
